The new Engineering Management Building at Missouri University of Science and Technology serves as the home of a respected graduate-level program in engineering management. The diverse program included seminar rooms, offices, a lecture theater, and an engineering process laboratory designed to accommodate the modeling of full-scale industrial processes.
Located on a steep slope, the building can be entered at either the upper or lower level from grade, and serves as a protected indoor transition from the lower to the upper areas of the MST’s Rolla campus. The building, along with the recent Minerals Science building, helps to define a new quadrangle for the campus.
The primary challenges of the design were to allow for the maximum flexibility in the industrial process lab, while accommodating rapidly changing technology in the offices, seminar rooms, and lecture hall.
