David Greusel and his team at Convergence Design saw the lake at Powell Gardens and felt certain a pirate ship had gone aground there. The industrious pirates had scavenged materials from the ship and built a fort on “Skeleton Island,” otherwise known at Powell as Goose Island.
“You wind your way around the island to find the fort,” Greusel said. “The crow’s nest is a full story above the ground, so you can survey the surroundings and spy marauders.”

Guess we were napping on May 29, when this article appeared in the New York Times (America's Newspaper of Record):
The article ranks Major League Ballparks by their Yelp ratings, which is a crowdsourced rating system that is democratic and reliable. The "winner by a country mile," as the article says, is PNC Park, designed by David Greusel (with help from many others) while he was with another firm. Now more than ten years old, PNC Park consistently ranks at or near the top of ballpark ratings in any number of media outlets, including ABC News, Forbes Magazine, and now, the New York Times. read more...

After the school day ended at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesdays, Tyler, 18, participated in the ACE Mentor Program.
ACE stands for Architecture, Construction and Engineering and is a program sponsored by the school district’s YouthFriends. Architects, engineers and construction professionals mentor students interested in their fields.
Scott Jones, an architect with Convergence Design in Kansas City, was Tyler’s ACE mentor for three years. read more...
